About this site

This is a personal project analysing ice hockey results and performance metrics for the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

It brings together historical match results, league tables, fixture and rest patterns, team performance, player statistics, and goal-significance analysis in interactive dashboards.

Created and maintained by Alistair Swanson.

Independent and unofficial. This site is not operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Elite Ice Hockey League or its member clubs.

Data and interpretation

The analysis is built from retained source data and reconciled historical results. Derived metrics are intended for research, comparison, and interest; they should not be treated as official league records. Coverage varies by season because detailed player and game-sheet data is not available for every historical year.

Sources

Results, schedules and game sheets are drawn primarily from eliteleague.co.uk, the league's own site. Where its data was incomplete, ambiguous, or (in the case of a number of Challenge Cup and League games from the 2010s) had home and away scores swapped, it was cross-checked and corrected against independent sources: the ih-update.co.uk results archive, Wikipedia's Elite Ice Hockey League season articles, hockeydb.com (playoff results), eliteprospects.com, and, where the live sites above were unavailable or had removed older pages, snapshots from the Wayback Machine.

Known coverage gaps and accuracy notes

Game results are held from the 2010/11 season onward; earlier seasons (2003/04 to 2009/10) are not yet in the database. For those years, the sources above disagree with each other often enough — missing games, conflicting scores, inconsistent dates — that a reconciled result set hasn't been possible to build with confidence yet.

Individual game sheets (player-by-player stats for a single game, rather than just the final score) are held from the 2016/17 season onward. Scores for 2010/11 to 2015/16 are recorded, but player-level detail for those seasons is not.

Privacy

The site uses optional Google Analytics only after a visitor accepts the analytics consent prompt. Declining does not affect the dashboards.
