Prototype dashboard exploring linemate synergy, special teams, penalty discipline, head-to-head history and "nightmare game" performances. Event-derived sections cover 2019/2020 onward, the seasons with reliable goal/on-ice/penalty event capture. Linemate pairs use who was recorded on the ice at goal events (not measured shared shift time — that is not currently captured). Every table is sortable — click a column heading.
Linemate synergy
Skater pairs on the same team, ranked by on-ice goal net while sharing the ice at a goal event (minimum 15 shared goal events in the selected seasons).
Declared linemates
Skaters named on the same forward line or defence pairing on the gamesheet -- the intended deployment, not just incidental on-ice pairs (minimum 5 games declared together in the selected seasons). GF/GA/Net columns are the same on-ice-at-goal numbers as the table above, for whatever games-together threshold this pair separately clears there -- the two tables use different minimums, so a pair can appear in one without the other.
Player vs player domination
Opposing skaters ranked by goal net while both were on the ice on opposite sides (minimum 8 shared goal events in the selected seasons). "Played" is actual games both dressed for on opposing sides; "shared goal events" is rarer -- goals scored while both were specifically on the ice. Sort by Net ascending to see who's had the roles reversed — bullied by a specific rival.
Special teams — team
Goals for/against by strength state (from goal_event.strength), plus an approximate PP%/PK%. team_game_stat's real opportunity columns are unpopulated in this database, so opportunities are estimated by counting each 2/4-minute penalty as one chance for the other team — this over/under-counts relative to a measured opportunity count (see generator docstring), so treat PP%/PK% as indicative, not official.
Special teams — player
Goal breakdown by strength state: even strength, power play, shorthanded.
Penalty discipline — team
Total penalty minutes and major-penalty counts by team.
Penalty discipline — player
Most-penalized skaters by total minutes, with their most frequent infraction.
Who dominated who?
All-time head-to-head records (minimum 6 meetings in the selected seasons), ranked by win rate then goal difference.
Nightmare games
Skaters with the worst on-ice plus/minus in a game their team lost by a single-line-sized margin (4 goals or fewer) — the games it looks like one player or line had a shocker.
Won despite them
The mirror image: skaters with a notably negative on-ice plus/minus in a game their team still won — carried by everyone else on the ice.
